aftermath of a regression for the mean: Trump 1.01
I live in a state—a nation: California (12% of U.S. pop.)—which voted strongly for Harris, for the Democrats’ Harris. I live in this world.
So, should I bother analyzing why a slight (sleighted) majority of the continent’s population prefers a showman, a propagandist, a carnival magician, a salesman playing power broker?
That’s something to explain relative to one’s interests in political life, integral for me generally.
But that’s not relevant to the world I’m in, the world I prefer, I Value which, for instance, takes mutual decency for granted, and which exemplifies better humanity than the world hawked by a puerile opportunist whose swamp mind should be drained into a golf course.
Besides, the presidency will belong to “Vice President” Wiles. And I anticipate that Bozo will die soon of natural causes: It’s natural that heartlessness doesn’t survive. Then, Republicans can adVance a sense of presidency hawking opportunistic trial-court truthiness as American.
Trump never really wanted to accomplish anything in the presidency (see Trump 1.0). He just wants to play president again—host a show with pathetic scripting.
The authenticity of the Harris campaign will not be forgotten, should not be forgotten.
So, I’m accumulating expert post-mortems for later discussion. Demo-
crats have work to do for the mid-term elections of 2026 and for the next presidential election season, no longer swamped by Bozo.
Believe it or not, American constitutionalism works, notwithstanding setbacks. I’m optimistic.
